Under the Character Analyses tab, you will find a list of characters that I have had the pleasure of experiencing through all different sorts of artistic mediums. Of course, characters are often best portrayed in a longer form of art such as literature or screenplay.

I will try to keep the characters I talk about here in line with the story and storyteller analyses from the respective tabs so that if you want to follow along with what I'm talking about it will be easier to do so. I will give forewarning here that I will not hold back when it comes to spoilers because that would hinder my ability to discuss the characters in their totality.

The cast of characters I discuss could come from any kind of story. As I said in the first paragraph, compelling characters are limited by medium so music and visual art will likely be disregarded when it comes to characters specifically. A list of characters that I intend to discuss as my first few posts is as follows:

  • David Martinez (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners)
  • Askeladd (Vinland Saga)
  • Thorfinn (Vinland Saga)
  • Geralt (The Witcher)
  • Sand dan Glokta (The First Law Trilogy)
  • Jezal dan Luthar (The First Law Trilogy)
  • Logen Ninefingers (The First Law Trilogy)
  • Collem West (The First Law Trilogy)
  • Arya Stark (Game of Thrones (TV Series))
  • Jamie Lannister (Game of Thrones (TV Series))
  • Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones (TV Series))

I will approach this list in no particular order and may do characters not listed here before others that appear on this list.

As for the structures of the individual posts, I will not be rating them or anything of that kind because of the subjective nature of the content. I will instead simply discuss the key components of each character that contribute to the overarching story or create a story of their own. This will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Motivations
  • Conflicts
  • Goals
  • Flaws
  • Limitations
  • Handicaps
  • Character Arcs
  • Relationships
  • Themes

Generally speaking, everything on the above list creates a character's theme(s) so each analysis will likely flow towards the character's themes.

Thanks for being so interested in my work that you've read the first character analysis post. You might just be super early and there's nothing else to read here but we'll ignore that case. Have a great day and I can't wait to get your eyes on the next post you may find here.
